Hi There,
Our x10xe 1.0l 12v (1999 T reg) is using about a litre of oil per week, it has had two EGR valves in two years and now the IML light is back on with the same EGR codes:
P1405 - EGR Valve Feedb. Incorrect Signal
(08) - Present
I have recently cleaned the creamy gunk out of one of the engine breather pipes (from the rocker cover to the inlet manifold)
I am quite handy with car maintenance but I am worried that if I don't find the cause and fix it the EGR replacement will get more frequent and the head gasket could be next.
I cannot think where to start apart from cleaning the old EGR valve (using carb cleaner maybe?)
Are there any other oil breather pipes or oil filter parts I can clean or replace?
Simon.

Is your car using much water? Is your exhaust blowing white smoke?
