Do insurance companies ask for your licence when getting insured?

Think they ask for your licence number, may be wrong though, can always get quotes without it anyway

They asked for mine when i did it, then on your insurance papers it has your plates to, might be different in ireland

Yeah think I had to send a photocopy of my licence when I got my first my insurance but I didn't have to another time

Yeah the plate no. is on the insurance disk
