Corsa 1.4 SRi 8v - Stunning Example
So guys here I have my Corsa 1.4 SRi that I recently purchased, It's on an L reg which I believe to be 93/94.
Too much of a bargain to turn my nose up at,
Here's the specs:
Electric windows, Electric mirrors, PAS, Sun roof, Central locking with dead lock,
Mileage when bought: 39,000
Work that needed doing?
Needed a new cambelt as it was still original from new, water pump as that was ceased,
Decided to give it a service too as I don't trust previous owners say so, Oil + Filter, Plugs & Air filter.
The water pump was done after a couple of months of driving it around which I knew was a mistake from the start but seen as I had no other transport I had to leave it until I could get round to it, I wish I did it when I bought it now, when the car got handed over to me the gentleman explained there was a bridge on the radiator to make sure it doesn't overheat, instantly that rang alarm bells for possible head gasket, oh guess what he also threw in the deal for me? A free headgasket set/kit.
I'll add a few photo's at the bottom of this thread.
I’m now in the process of changing the head gasket as that has now definitely blown as you will see from pictures.
So just to summarise the work I have done to it so far: Cambelt, Water pump, Radiator fan switch, Thermostat.
I have bought a heat gun to bring the trims back to life and looking as good as new,
I have a lot of idea's that I want to be doing to this car as it is in such good condition.
Some future work that will be done:
Sportex Manifold + De-cat & 3" Rear exhaust
Lowered by either 40mm or 60mm still not 100% on that one yet
Re-spray a few parts
Team dynamics 1.2 pro race 15" gloss black with 4 x goodyear eagle f1 or Conti contact sport (not sure which ones yet)
Before I bought it:
First wash & wax:
When I knew the Headgasket had blown:
I will post an update with the progress of doing the head gasket with pictures very soon as I'm half way through.
If you have any suggestions/advise or would like to see something done to it you know what to do

The only thing I would change on that is exhaust, a nice rolled tip or oval and leave the rest as is
Looks stunning and a brilliant example of an original Sri
Never remove the red strip

If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway
