Sidelights

Post by stanc3w0rks »

Was wondering if my sidelights could be disconnected from the headlight switch and wired to the foglight button? And could i leave block connectors or something in place so that it could be easily reverted back to the origonal set-up?

Just splice a rocker switch into the sidelights circuit
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

Good idea, so i could put a switch near the headlight switch and spice it in to the wires just behind the headlight switch in theory? Would it be legal?

Yeah my fogs are spliced into the sidelights circuit to a rocker switch on the dash

I spliced in at the light purely because I couldn't be assed to find the wire at the dash

No because I only spliced one in and joined the circuit again

But you have to cut the wire and put a wire at each end and then each end of that wire to a switch

I'll draw you a diagram, it won't be pretty but it'll give you an idea
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

Right it may confuse you more but anyway
Image

The first bit I didn't mean to draw, I kind of forgot what I was doing  but the purple line just shows that you cut it

But the second bit is what you should end up with, MSW is your light switch and the green is the old wire and purple is the New wires that you will put in then in to the rocker switch
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway
