Newbie needing help.......

Hi, this is my first car, corsa b 97, SOHC 8v.
Just wondering, I bought an air filter the other day and is all I need to do is fix the air filter on, after taking the old one out of course ? I don't need to mess around with alternator or ECU or anything?

Yeah they just go straight on, no messing about with ECU etc

Hi again. Finally got round to checking air filter. Might be a bit too big.
Measurements are filter 5" long 5" diameter smallest end.
Metal pipe attached 8" with 45degree bend with extra 3" rubber tube for attaching
also small pipe leading off and a temp? Socket as well.
I Googled name on it "air impulse 2".
If you could let me know if it would be ok or too much air intake?

p.s the end of filter when i put it against for measuring under good puts it near front behind lights
