Roller painting
Anyone have any experiance or knowledge about roller painting a car? Could i just slap the paint straight over what i have now or will i have to sand, primer, roll then lacquer? Im going to be using satin black outdoor paint for gates and stuff.

Re: Roller painting
Key it and roll on then lacquer it
Or primer if you want to fill the scratches and stone chips

If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

Re: Roller painting
Key it as in take the smoothness off it so the paint will stick? What would happen if i didn't lacquer it?

Re: Roller painting
Yeah just flatten it back till it's dull
Lacquer just protects the paint, helps against stone chips, peeling and poo like that
Obviously your going for rat look and stone chips might not matter but I'd still lacquer it anyway

I wont need to go through the paint though, just need to make the surface abrasive and scuff it up

Re: Roller painting
Well any thinners in general should do yeah if you mix it with too much thinners it won't harden properly, so just add abit at a time

Re: Roller painting
You'd need hardener to make it dry quicker, you can buy a liter of it for about a 10er in auto paint shops
thinners mix will take longer to dry

Re: Roller painting
Oh then whats the point using thinners? I thought it would help give thinner coats of paint and they would dry faster?
