First car but help please

Hi all I'm the new owner of a 1.2 sxi which unfortunately has a blown hg but only paid £70 for her so I couldn't really let it go I work in a body shop and have been round cars all my life but iv never really touched the engines so I'm looking for any help and guidance I want to do all the work myself and keep costs as low as possible

Have you thought about changing the engine with a replacement?

If it's only the head gasket they are easy on the 1.2 you can get the kit cheap just fit a new cam belt kit and water pump

Can get the gasket kit for £35 water pumps £17 roughly and cam belt kit not 100% mate

Yep thats what's needed Jamie and new oil as his will be no good but he may aswell just get the oil filter aswell as they are like £4 so it ain't worth arguing for the price
