This stuff for real?

Post by VKleita »

Being sent a link by a friend

http://www.essexracing.com/index.php?cPath=77

How exactly does this stuff work or is it a cash cow?

never used it just interested :)

I also heard a while ago about a \"Eco spray\"
which supposedly did similar kinds of things.

they cant really make your engine \"Like new performance\" can they ????

Its just an octane addtive

normal petrol is 95ron
shell optimax is 98ron

Mainly for japanese cars as they run high ron fuels close to 100ron!

I\'m guessing the eco-spray you are refering to is a engine cleaner which de-cokes your engine

NOT GOOD AT ALL

it removes all the dirt build up from inside your engine therefore opening cracks etc in the engine that have been filled in with the dirt deposits!

These then can lead to major problems i have knows 2 people use that 20k spray and engines have not lasted very long after using it!

Octane boosters for jap cars
Eco-Spray kills cars

Well thats my view on them hehe

those essex racing people are ok to order from, they are just up the road to me, not worth visiting them. its just an industrial unit (thought id mention it incase anyone was going to)

Mine seems a bit quicker if i use shell optimax and an octane booster. Prob running over 100 octane rating!
The higher the octane rating the quicker the fuel burns the more power isn\'t it?
Not sure.

Unless your car is Jap then i think your wasting your money really!

A good blast on optimax at 98 ron will probs be good for your engine but wouldn\'t run the car on it permenantly!

What engine you got?

Me? I\'ve only got a 1.4 but it seems to make a difference. Mabie it\'s due to mine having 60k on the clock and it unclogs things a bit when i stick it in.

Could be in your head too

You pay the extra 5p per litre for optimax you have to convince yourself it makes the difference to pay for it again!

As long as you think it works then thats all that matters was just intended for high performace and Japanese cars!

Not little corsa engines

I always use Optimax in my car & never run anything else...

TBH you need about 5 refills on Optimax to start noticing any difference, but it certainly does keep the insides of the engine nice & clean!
All the above comments are deemed an opinion, and in most cases :spam:

That be why i never noticed anything, filled up once seen dent it made in my wallet

Never bothered again but in a 1.2 the difference wouldn\'t be great if any!

Some people eh mate, and as for optimax, in my little 1200 you can notice the difference after about 3 tank, the engine runs loads better.
