Mods for almost free!!

Post by GraniteCorsa »

Hello! Here I have a '99 Corsa-B 5dr GLS. I love the sunroof, the lekkie windows and just how brilliantly nimble she is!

But there are issues.
-She's slow
-Last owner gave her a dodgy paintjob and now she has a monobrow (Plan on priming and rattlecanning)
-Doesn't look great
-She overheats, a lot
-Too quiet
-I'm close to skint with an expensive summer on the way

Would hugely appreciate any and all advice or offers to help with a car I truly love.

I've already restored and painted the steelies black. But not much else.

I wouldn't rattlecan the whole car, can't imagine the paint staying on very well. It's hard to get a good finish on big areas with spray paint. Modding your car is expensive, if you can't afford to do it properly then I wouldn't bother, need to get saving! There are simple thimgs like dewipering you can do for free given you have the tools to do it

Lets begin the list mate of free things de-restrict ya air box,de wiper the rear , debumper and debadge the car. When ya say over heating does it have oil in the water and the pipes cold when it does?? Cheap upgrades are led dash mfd bulbs, led side lights, colour coding bumpers, egr blank off plate. But like sed to rattle can the car wud probably cost the same as a spray job tbh put pics up of it to show how bad the spray job is
If it ain't green and black send it back :D

I did a rattlecan on my astra mk4 sanded it all down primed it then sprayed it in about 13/14 hours and i wouldnt really reccomend it. in the rain it looked awesome as it was satin black so it looked like it was a proper job but in the sun it was patchy in places and the roof was a nightmare. If youre going to do it regardless make sure its out of the wind and cover everything around it to the extreme as i found overspray was a complete pain in the a**e when it went on the windows. Also id put right the things wrong with her first before modding it. no one wants to see a modded car on the hard shoulder lol
