Hello there, my car is a Chevrolet Corsa 1.6 8V MPFI, from Argentina, and I want to lower it. I've been gathering information for a long time now, and some people say that replacing ONLY the stock springs for a progressive ones it's ok with the stock shocks, and others say the contrary
I was wondering if you could help me with experience of yours of what you do know about this...
My idea is to drop it 4 or 5 cm
Thank you all!
Agustín.

Re: Lowering replacing spring
If you're going 60mm or less, i'd say your stock shocks are fine, but anything above that I'd advise changing the shocks too. A lot of people have gone lower on stock struts with no problems, but it's better to be safe than sorry imo.Agustin8894 wrote:Hello there, my car is a Chevrolet Corsa 1.6 8V MPFI, from Argentina, and I want to lower it. I'm running 60mm all round but have standard rear shocks and shorter front struts

Alright, and you think the life of the front shocks may be reduced by changing these springs? I mean, the shocks won't be working right with shorter springs, or they may be fine with those 50mm...

Re: Lowering replacing spring
They should be fine, shouldn't deteriorate any faster than with stock springs on. 50mm should be fine if you manage to find 50mm springs, i've only ever really seen 40mm or 60mm, no 50mm setsAgustin8894 wrote:Alright, and you think the life of the front shocks may be reduced by changing these springs? Here: http://articulo.mercadolibre.com.ar/MLA ... ag-kit-_JM
This kit I may go for. Usually, it lowers 50mm, it may be 45 o 55mm, it depends.
