New Car Ideas

Post by JamesT0708 »

So my insurance policy runs out in September and i'm looking to go with a new insurance company before my current one runs out meaning I can buy my new car sooner as a project to keep me busy over the summer. I've had 2 Corsa's, a C (which I crashed) and a B and i'm looking for a change now. So, i'm looking for;

-Below 1.6l
-Below £2k
-Not RWD

That's pretty much it, just for insurance reasons. Any suggestions are welcome as i'll get an insurance quote for everything.
Thanks for looking :)

How come no rwd :( you can buy a fairly decent mx5 for your budget other than that your looking at corsa golf civic corolla avenis vectra

The below 1.6 knocks out alot of cars

If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway :thumbs:

I love MX5's trust me, if I could get one I wouldn't have even made this post haha. It's just the insurance :( Endsleigh have been the cheapest company for every single car I've ran through them, but they just refuse to insure me on a convertible or RWD :( Civic's are out of the question for the same reason, people have obviously given them a horrible rep over the years.

Civics are only for people that like to think they have a fast car, they are so far away from being a drivers car

What do you want the car for?

I have a soft spot for VW's, I think it runs in the family, but as much as I want to hate them I love Lupo's. I know their horribly common and they're 'girls car's' but I just can't help but like them. I think i've narrowed the list down to;

1) Keeping my Corsa
2) 1.6 Astra
3) Mk4 Golf
4) 1.4 Lupo

But i'm still open to any suggestions, these are just the one's that tick the boxes for me atm. Also a massive thing is it has to be 3dr! I hate 5dr's :shy:

It's looking very much like a Lupo atm. There's so much you can do to them over a Mk4 Golf I think, and they look really good if you do it right

Yeah the Lupo's are growing on me a little but tbh especially after my girlfriend going crazy about them anyway..

I've said to her I'll get a golf once she gets a Lupo, were going from that twin look but on different models, would be pretty good at car meets I think parked next to each other as well :D

Trying to get away from corsa's though haha :( fancy something new. I do like Golf's Jamie, but I think you can do a lot more to a Lupo to make them look better.

Yeah I know what you mean, I'd rather a golf than a lupo due to having a big love for them and wanting one for years on end, I'll be getting a golf GTTDi for my first golf I reckon 150bhp

I'm going to split everything on my car like the exhaust and everything and hopefully I should have my new car, whatever I choose to get in the end, by the end of July. Looking like a Lupo atm though
