Consistent Water leakage in 1.2 Corsa

Post by Aditi »

Hello there,
I'm pretty new in the community,
And I had recently purchased Corsa 1.2 16V
It's an Excellent car, economical and agile traveling in city
with 75 horsepower,Tiptronik and Compact Car :)

I did straightening line that included replacing coolant, Oils and Filters.
The problem that bothers me not a little, is the disappearance of the water from the tank..
There are no leaks under the car, rather dry water pipes
Most important there is no mix of oil and water (cylinder engine head, thank God!)
But still the water disappears one way or another

Someone familiar with the situation?
Experienced such a problem?
There are proposals to locate the source of drain?

Thanks in advance, Aditi

Could be the head gasket just because you don't have oil water mix don't always mean your head gasket has not failed I had the same prob in my vec
Then one day it just went and clouds of white smoke
Or could be the heater matrix if the later you would feel damp spots in the floor wells inside the car

I'll check and reduce the options..

i can bypass the heater matrix to chcek, the tubes are shaped clips.. so it'nt difficult.
and i'll replace the coolant cap.

About the head gasket, it's a bit difficult to check.
No other tests that can verify before opening to replace?
No more ways to check and make sure of the Head gasket is worn and causing the water problem?
Z12XE its with timing chain

I would get a cooling system pressure test done or a sniff test that way you will know once and for all as if takes the guess work out

Bad news, I saw this morning after a short drive, Suspicions are realized to cylinder head ?
the cap seems that there is mixing of oil and coolant,
But seeing Slightly through the engine, and the Oil level gauge everything seems normal..

Go for atleast an hour long drive and see if it clears up, if it does then its just condensation.

I do not think but worth checking
Because I also losing water, and the cap has the symptoms..

In any case I do not know if it contributes
But, I have done compression test, And the results are published:
Cylinder 1 - 156.45 psi
Cylinder 2 - 164.98 psi
Cylinder 3 - 142.23 psi
Cylinder 4 - 163.56 psi
