Fog lights
My mot is due soon and checking everything over my rear fog lights don't work.
The switch doesn't light up, the light in the instrument cluster doesn't light up and the fog lights don't turn on..
I've checked the fuses they're all good.
Connections on the switch look good.
Anyone any ideas about common rear fog lights problems?
Or even uncommon ones!

Re: Fog lights
Are the headlights on when your switching it on? They don't go on without dipped beam being on
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

Re: Fog lights
Yeah headlights are on.
I tried a few bits of fiddling but don't want to waste too much time fault finding as I've got a few other bits need doing.
As far as I can see the problem is the fog lights are gettin no feed, however when replacing the fuse after I had checked it it sparked a little as I was puttin it in. So I'm assuming whatever the problem is its after the fuse box

Re: Fog lights
If it sparked there's probably a short somewhere, did the fuse blow when it sparked?
Do you have a multi meter?

Re: Fog lights
No the fuse is still good.
Yes I have a multimeter
I've had a look at the wiring diagram for this and can't really see where the problem would be other than at the appertures themselves ie switch, light etc.
I'll run a continuity test on all the cables if I have to I just wondered if there where any common problems for me to look out for

Re: Fog lights
Check there's power at the switch and going through the switch
There's no common problems with the fogs as far as I'm aware but there are only a couple things it can be

Re: Fog lights
The relay for the fogs is the same relay that operates the back wiper isnt it? If it is the rear wiper is working so assuming it's fine..
Okay johnny thanks guess I'll have to do it the proper way instead of cheating haha

Had this on my phone, didnt know if you had a diagram for them, if you need I'll get a picture of the key for what all the numbers and letters mean

I'll get one tomorrow I'm away from the car at the moment.
The relays are all above the fuse box on the offside side of the box
It's a t reg 1l breeze model if that's any help?
