Hey all, been a lurker on here for a while but my own Corsa has just developed an issue and its left me confused!
Tuesday I was driving to work and noticed a whirring kind of sound when in low revs or idling which I popped the bonnet and it sounds like coming from alternator side of the engine. When I came out of work to go home i noticed before I even put the key in that the battery light was lit up. But as soon as I turned the ignition it went out as normal.
I'm due to be changing the timing belt this month and water pump so if I can narrow it down to the alternator then I can change that as well.
Anyone had this issue before or able to help me pinpoint it further down?
No key in ignition - battery light on?

Sounds like a fault on your alternator

Cheers, I'll get a replacement and hopefully thats whats causing the whirring/weird sound as well then.
