Help

Post by chesterlad »

Hi everyone

I have a 1997 corsa 1.2 8v that is being an absolute pain to start. I dont know how to explain it really, she just seems to stall without me actually doing anything other than turning the ignition. Once i eventualy get her going she drives fine

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Keith

Try giving it a bit of gas as you start it?

Does it not start or not idle once started?
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

She just wont start, giving her a bit of gas makes no difference.

Is it cranking fast as if it's trying to start or a slow crank

Could be the crankshaft sensor

I dont really understand cars, i just know how to drive them. My brother is a mechanic and he has checked everything he can think of. He is just out of ideas now.

I'd try a crankshaft sensor then, there not expensive and there known for causing problems starting when there faulty
