tryin to instal a ripspeed dvd player in my car and its nt fittin cause of a metal frame someone said too cut it is tht possible? please help?!?!

Hi nd welcome to the forum stacy :) yes ya can cut the metal plate but if u don't feel comfy doin that then get a long metal bar and a lump hammer and push the plate in to how far ya need hope this helps ya

was toldd nt to touch the metal bar as it is strengthener for dash the amount of wires on this dvd player is unreal , the cage for dvd player fits fine n go to put dvd player in and cn onli get it sat in so far,

Is the dvd double din? If so you have to cut the dash
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway :thumbs:

Never mind reading your other 2 threads I realise that it not, you can't cut the bar out,

Where did you buy the headunit? Got a link to it?


In future please only create one thread for your question, having three means that we can end up contradicting each other and not all of us have the same info, it's much more efficient to keep it in the one thread, thanks :)

sorry new to this ya c, i swap my wee standard sony headunit for it, its ripspeed one were screen slides out n touchscreen, i havent a clue why she wont fit, someone said it myt be to bigg to even fit but ive seen corsa bs with em ffittd

A picture of the two head units side by side from a top view would help us see if the size is an issue. Its probably the wires bunching up behind it, very awkward keeping them out of the way when fitting the head unit.

most probably is wires theres a mountain of them but ill get pic when shes bk from the garage wee car is some bother :?

If you go from the passenger footwell you can pull the lump of wires down and it kind of tidys the area up where the head unit goes.
