You need to be more descriptive :) help with a dvd player doesn't tell us what's wrong
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

Any pics? Personally I would hack away (gently) until it fits but you've got to bare in mind what if you want to go back to a stock unit and you've cut too much away for it to fit. As for the metal support if that is in the way I would be cautious of cutting that away as it will just fall back into the dash. Get a piece of cardboard and cut it to exactly the same size as the back of the DVD player and tape it on loosely, push the dvd player into the slot when it gets stuck push just a little bit harder pull it back out and the cardboard (the kind that storage boxes are made from not like a cereal box) will be indented where the DVD player is fouling in the dash. Then you know what's in the way. I had problems with the wiring in mine as many years ago someone chopped it to bits I ended up moving a lot of it around to sit beside the glovebox and gave me more space for my aftermarket unit. Just fiddle about eventually most stuff fits. Hope that helps you out
