Mine came with red springs even though the pic was yellow. If your not lowering it as far as the coilovers go (which is really low at the front) the ride is alot stiffer feeling for handling, but not to stiff comfort wise. So since your only going down 60-70mm it will handle better and still be good and comfy.

Id love to spray the springs Arden Blue tbh lol

The paint isnt great that comes on them, bits are flaking off mine after less than a year

Paint will never stay on springs anyway unless there's an awful amount of powder coat on them

You'd be wasting your time spraying them arden blue, as soon as the spring would start moving the paint would just crack

Aw yea of course, Id LOVE to colour code them, but i knew it would never work

Fighting with a boy on ebay for a set of 2.0 brake calipers and discs from a calibra lol

was offering £50 for them but he pays the postage to Northern Ireland. so about £35 for them and £15 postage

i take it i can re-use my brake hose on them ?

Went to the Metal Fabricator today with the Irmsher Twin Square Exhaust.

He welded on a patch over one of the holes that i had filled with Gun Gum

he also cut off the rusted exit pipe and welded on a new piece of stainless steel piping, also cut two slots into it.

he did his best to measure up the old and new tubing with a digital measuring tool i think theres 1.5mm of a difference but we both think that once its clamped on with maybe some sealer when its fitted it should be good.

with the rest of it he said just give the new welds a bit of a paint and to see how the gun gum holds up. that if it blows out that the only option would be to cut out the rusted sections, sandblast it and welded it back together.

Also, this is how far the old discs look after putting the new brake pads on.

its doing its best to shine up metal but i think its time i replace them out as they need done anyway.

was just waiting on the guy on ebay to get back to me about the offer i made him, he he refuses it il go standard Solid Discs.

Personally i would go with a 60/60 lowering kit. It looks more level when looking from the side and looks the bomb try and use some exhaust high temp silicone rather than putty as it wont crack and has more flexibility

Hi Gazza havnt seen you on much cheers for the advice.

Just found out the guy accepted my offer on a set of :

2.0 brake calipers and discs from a calibra.
il probably end up replacing the Discs and Pads tho. as his look very rusted. ( i like new things )

Planing to fit colour coded Citroen xsara wide mist washer jets before my next mot. I'm absolutely sick of the standard corsa jets and the lame performance. Everytime I go to MOT I cross my fingers they will work.

Well need to know which of these are better

Front coil overs with 60mm springs

Or spax gas shocks with 40mm springs ?

Maybe £70ish for the gas spax unless I can beat him down

Or

£68 for the coil over ones

The coil over ones look to be unbranded. The gas spax are from same guy who's braking a corsa that I'm getting the 2.0 brakes from. He offered me bunch of parts like gsi interior and gsi wheels even has a 1.6 engine with 60k miles etc.

Branded will always beat unbranded, but it depends what your after

The spax will probably be abit stiffer at the back, if your not interested in out right handling, the coils would be better since they'll be softer and you can set it the height you want

hard to make a choice,
i was looking at my car this morning and there's a bigger gap at the front (from top wheel to arch)
the back is near perfect IMO, so perhaps what i would need would be 60mm front / 40mm rear. im going to have to measure it.

At least with the front coilovers, i can adjust to suit the ride height and make it look level. i might even get away with using my rear springs with the spax shocks.
but then with the Spax shocks, im tied down depending on the springs, which also means buying springs which add to the cost. and its a branded name so as you say thats always better.

Personally I would go with the coilovers.

On the rear my arches are just about hanging over the tyre and on the front they are level and the ride is still quite comfortable and handles 110% better since it doesn't lean over in bends.

I'd go with the coilovers 100%, IMO corsas need more than -40mm on the back.
