This is how my car is sitting at the moment, lower at the back, higher at the front ( the gap that is )

I personally dont like an overhang or over lip or what ever you call it.
I prefer the arch to sit almost flush with the top of the tyre.

so if thats your car with -110mm i think -60 would be in the ballpark for the rear to look like the front of your car.
i like the height at the front, thats what id like all around. + i have the GSI skirts so it should look like its sitting extra low.

I think you lot helped me make my mind up. i was more towards the coilover set as its a full kit ready to install.
with the spax its firmer and i would have needed to buy different springs, and not much room to play with for adjusting.

Also i need to put the 15" Tigra Alloy back on the front, so that should lower the gap. in the pic above its the standard 14" i think steels.

The spare should be on the back! Always keep your drive wheels the same size (even same trye size) unless you want to destroy your diff.

its not a spare its two steel wheels at the front as the two alloys are bald slick lol. i had put them on to get it through MOT and never got around to getting two replacement tyres for the alloys. ive 4 tigra alloys and 4 Steel wheels. ( 2 alloys on the car, 2 steels on the car - 2 alloys in shed , 2 steels in shed )

did you think it was 3 x 15" alloys and one spare 14" steel ?

actually you just reminded me to check my spare tyre to see if its in good shape lol. havent checked in so long, probably a dead body in there.

No problem, its good that you pointed it out.
Asked the seller to add the postage costs and going to pick up the coilover and springs comes in at about £68 i think

Job for the better summer weather i think, + il need to pick up a coil compressor tool etc

If they come with top mounts then clamps aren't 100% needed but they are recommended.

Filled up petrol the other day, i have a habit of leaving the petol cap on the roof there the gsi spoiler meets theres a lip that holds it perfect.

but with petrol being so cheap these days i normaly fill up £50 always have done. so opened the boot to get the green petrol tank out and the petrol cap shot across the petrol station, had to go pick it up and i already knew the worst. managed to chip the paint on the top of the spoiler

RAGING after paying £380 geting the car re-sprayed. il have to do my best to patch it in with a touch up kit.

on the same note im getting a good 380 / 410 miles on a fill of petrol

I always set the cap in the same place, thankfully I've never opened the boot though, if it's only a chip a touch up pen should be fine :) it's in a spot nobody will notice at least

That's brave miles aswell, not sure what mine does because the more petrol in the car the harder I drive
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

Got the brakes today,

pads and discs dont look half bad, but will need good clean and de-grease to be safe. brake cleaner should sort that ?

the calipers tho, looks like they tried to paint them and very badly at that. Red / white / blue.

will need wire brushed and repainted.

Spotted this today online,

the mouting brackets are totaly different to my Twin Square, i think mines been modded in the past, or this guys has been not sure..
Dropped him and email for a price and some more photos to compare to my one as his looks in better condition.

Mine just looks nicer cause its painted black and there was sun light hitting on the chrome, mine had holes and recently got a few welds done and pipe work.

Mines the bottom one Stevie. Im not going to buy his one any more as he was looking £80 for it posted. i bought my one for £40. and refurbed it as you can see.

Also i've no more funds left this month after buying the 2.0 liter brake system and ive just bought a suspension kit.

Image

Paid a lot more than i wanted too, i stupidly stuck in a securing bid when the price was low, as i was out with mates and didnt want to forget about it. i thought it was fine as it was down to the last 2 mins when i placed the securing bid of £80 when the action was at £52. of course in the last 2 mins everyone jumped in and up-bidded me to £78 !

so ended up paying a lot more, £78 + £18.99 postage. Bye Bye wages :crywave:

at least the springs match the Arden Blue ;)

Got the suspension today, the brand seems to be "tuning art"

Not sure how to judge if they are good or bad - can i get some advice ?
guy said there was splits in the rubber but that id wont effect them ? is that true one of them is basically split in half i didnt think it was that bad !

How do i test or check them for leaks etc or if theres gas in them etc. - im clueless here never had to fit suspension before.

is everything there than i need ? there was no adjuster tool im sure i can buy one on ebay

guy said there was splits in the rubber but that id wont effect them ? is that true one of them is basically split in half i didnt think it was that bad ! Doesn't really affect it, there only dust covers

How do i test or check them for leaks etc or if theres gas in them etc. - im clueless here never had to fit suspension before. compress the shock and it should come back at a steady fluid movement, I'll get a link on how to bench test

Looks to be bar the c spanner, but I just used a pair of vice grips [emoji38]
