C14SE coolant tank.

Post by ukhozi »

C14SE header tank for coolant, I have just received a new one as I suspected a fault in the old one (wrong, but hey, the new one is shiny and clean) and it has a small spigot next to the inlet pipe on the top, is this for a later model and goes to??? or should I just block it off as on the old one?-

Well I got the head of the C14SE engine, again, and the gasket was in good order with no signs of breakage. BUT #1 piston was clean as a whistle and covered in some kind of soft deposit, there was no sign of water and the head looks OK but is it using water.
Anyone know of problems with these head for the 8V 1.4 engine?

I have since had the manifolds off and #1 valves out and I can't see anything wrong, head was skimmed last time and using the steel rule and torch I am sure it's still flat. I removed the thermostat as well nothing obvious there around #1 .?? Guess I will have to plonk it all back on and see what happens.

Could be airlocked mate, the corsa is a whore to fill with coolant without getting airlocks, anything more than a trickle is too much
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

That on the 16v engine too johnny? I just threw mine in haha I actually left the hose in the top n went and made a brew then come back pulled out n ran the engine for a bit with no problem.. Must of been lucky haha

Mines always used water I've looked everywhere for leaks pressure tested the head and even tried one of those uv leak kits.. Still nothing. I just leave it alone now and put it down to having a quirk. I fill it up once every 5 days or so it's not too bad
