Corsa B Muffled Acceleration & Cutting Out when Hot

Hey folks,

I have an Opel Corsa B and lately when accelerating I am getting this muffled sound from acceleration. The muffled sound is coming from the engine, it has slowly started sounding worse over time. Lately also the car has start cutting out when hot, it mostly cuts out when its in neutral when I am stopped at lights or in traffic after 20mins of driving, basically when the car isn't being revved. Yesterday though it cut out while I was accelerating in 3rd gear but I had been driving for over an hour so the engine would of been quite hot.

I thought the cause of the issue could of been the air flow meter so visited a breakers to get a replacement part, an original part (Bosch), not an aftermarket part which are known to have issues. They let me install the part before I bought it to make sure it worked. The part seemed to get rid of the muffled noise but when I attempted to accelerate it lagged and wouldn't accelerate for a few seconds. When I re-installed my existing air flow meter the lag in acceleration went but the previous symptoms I described returned. The part was from a crashed car so I wasn't sure if there could of been something wrong with it hence the lag in acceleration but I'm just not sure.

The check engine light hasn't come on at any point except when I manually plugged out the air flow meter which sounded the same as when it was plugged in leading me to believe that was the problem in the first place.

I would say your egr is sticking I would take
It off and give if a good clean with carb or break
Cleaner then try it
