locking wheel nut key missing

Post by v6matt »

Has anyone got one of the old corsa 3 pin type locking wheel nut keys? When I got my 1.4 sport the other week it didn't come with the key, and he never had to remove the wheels so doesn't know where it is. I've tyred banging a socket over the nut with no joy ( need 16.5mm).

Do you mean the t shapes key that locks the centre caps on? Can be bought on eBay I got one for pennies. Can also get it off with a punch and a hammer and just spin it out but you have to be very very careful not to damage the paint

The type with three holes in the bolt and three pins on the inside of the key.

If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

No, that's for the disk cover that goes on the wheel itself. I'm after a key for the locking wheel nut.

The original vauxhall lock nut key locked like this

So I'm assuming there aftermarket which means you'll need to get it to a tyre shop to get them removed

replacement keys can only be got for oem lock nuts as far as I'm aware
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

There's a set on ebay that would be the same design but I wouldn't count on the key fitting your current bolts

Says this in the description tho..

PLEASE NOTE this set is designed as replacements, the key WILL NOT fit your current locking bolts.

You can buy a kit they are around £90 that
Will get the bolt out
You can buy cheaper ones or try banging a socket over it
