Cav SRi 2.0 8v transplant

Post by simon_p »

I own a 1.0 12v, but have been offered the above mentioned engine very cheap.

He has the engine, intake system, ECU, loom but no gearbox.

Except the gearbox, what else will i need? is it an easy job? has any one on here done it?

Also, would the cav SRi front discs and calipers fit on the corsa? what about the rear?

All help gratefully recieved!!!

how much are we looking at cheapest here? how much would the gearbox be from a scrappers do you reckon? is it the f20 box i need?

do i need different hubs for the brakes? i looked at the calipers and the only difference is they need bigger disks. Didn\'t try the disk as it was at his dads house

ok then for the conversion you will need

engine mounts ( 2 mounts needed cuz u got a 12v, if u had an 8v u would of only needed the one)
hubs
drive shafts
ecu and loom off donor car
gear linkage lengthened
up-rated suspension
up rated breaks (all the needs doing is the discs and pads, no need for further up grades unless u go over 160bhp)
gear box spacer mount
8mm fuel lines
muliti point injection fuel pump
and loads of tools
wd40 and lots of time
i cant think of any more at the moment
but u can get a conversion kit from Regal auto sport, www.regal-shop.co.uk, the kit is about £400 and consists of, engine mounts, gear box spacer, drive shafts and hubs, plus instructions to do the conversion
