1.0 Envoy whining :O

HI i was driving along yesterday, when my engine starting a quite loud whining noise. does it when the car is accelerating and when the gearbox is engaged.
anyone got any ideas on what it could be, i thought it might have been the oil being really low but topped it up cuz it was empty :O and it still does it.

If it stops when you press the clutch it's your release bearing
For the clutch or the box it's self

it sometimes does it when the the clutch is pressed aswell? not all the time only now an again

I had this exact problem a few years ago but I don't remember what it was [emoji38] I'm 75% sure it was the release bearing, I remember I was changing the clutch at the time
