Re: Combo Towing project
Got fed up using a bungy strap to hold the wheel in and done trust people enough to store it under the van.
Made it with a tie bar from toolstation and some m8 treaded rod + other nuts, bolts, screws and washers I had lying around. Used a wheel retainer from a mk3 astra.

Re: Combo Towing project
So for those who wonder. Yes. You can retrofit cruise control to a combo. (and intermittent adjustable wipers)
Parts
Loom ends from a zafira.
Cruise ecu and cable from an omega
Indicator stalk with buttons from vectra
Control brackets and other brackets for fitting bits
Clutch switch
Wire
Grommets
I spent most of the time off the car making brackets and wiring looms. This guide here was invaluable. http://www.tssduk.webspace.virginmedia. ... ontrol.htm.
Most of the challenge was finding where to put bits.
I'll let the photos do the talking and add some more detail at the weekend.
Need a heads up. Just ask

Re: Combo Towing project
photos now added
below are some of the challenges faced.
Had to make up a loom. worth noting that there is a nice 10mm grommet behind the washer bottle to feed it through.
The indicator stalk bodies varied slightly so I needed to dismantle them and swap the levers over. not for the impatient.
Finding space for the unit. Fortunately with some minor fetteling of the battery tray mount a nice snug spot was found.
Fitting a clutch switch. As the Corsa B never was intended for cruise this needed making
Fitting the cable bracket to the diesel pump. I used some brackets off Zafiras to make one up.
One step you cant see is that I had to file down the loop that goes over the throttle ball so the ball would clip back on.
You don't need to remove the inlet just the resonator to get access.
enjoy

Very nice I am just starting to ramp up work on mine again... All projects other than my 4wd have been on hold for the last 18 months while getting it ready for a big trip... Now that I'm back the Combo can finally be spoiled again

Re: Combo Towing project
So I've wired up the heated seats. Trouble is that the previous owner of the seats cut the wires and wired LEDs in backwards.
