Hi all,

i have a problem....my car is idling between 1000 & 2000 revs sometimes when i am stationary. and this little yellow light comes on underneath the rev counter.

my car is an s reg 1999, 1.0L 12v 3 cylinder.

Has anyone else had this problem?

if you can help..... i would very much appreciate it. :thumbs:

when u last changed ur spark plugs and u got a air fliter of some sort?

i haven\'t change my air filter or my spark plugs since i got the car mate.

Get it plugged into a computer n it will tell u whats wrong wit it :thumbs:

if its going up & down could either be a vacuum leak or ICV could be getting clogged up with crap

or spark plugs need changing i found this out last week tryed every thing but spark plugs!

you can do a pin test on it coz vauxhall will charge the earth to plug it up to the computer

i think the relevant page is on migweb.com

this will tell you the fault caode it has registered, then you can look it up on the same site and diagnose the fault

yeah i agree, id try carb cleaner in the butterfly valve, i get that problem alot since fitted an induction kit

Im getting this problem now on my 1.0 12v. Im going to try the ICV, but I dont know where it is. Any clues?

yep that was the problem, that\'s all you need to change is that..... nearest to the left that is highlighted. its called the idle control valve.
