Can i lower just using springs,or should i buy shocks too?

Post by voodoo_jellybaby2k2 »

Might sound like a stupid question.........

But i really want to lower my car, and so with me being a tight ass student, lol......i wanna do it on a budget. So i was wondering if i could lower it just using springs??

I can get a set of g-maxx -60mm lowering springs for about £70 or Jamex -60mm ones for £60. But obviously without the shockers. I want to lower it more than -40mm you see, so i dont want the -40mm ones.

Anyways, if i was to do this will it knacker my car, or make the handling or ride a lot worse/better or no difference.

As i said in a previous post my cars slow, so its only being done for looks......

Cheers

Adam

P.s. if i need the shocks, does anyone know where i can get some cheap springs and shocks from lol.

hmm, dont agree with that Si

If your gng more than 40mm its recommended you uprate the shocks

I have just brought and fitted (well half) a GMAX 40mm spring kit. Until i get my FK coilovers :P

if you get shocks aswell they will give you better handling and road holding, if you can afford them go for them if you cant dont bother. im just going for springs for my car.

if you lower the car on 60m springs you will find it bottoms out all the time and the shockers will go really quickly if you go for the 40mm it will be fine as theres less movement but its always better to invest in the full kit
