100,000 Miles

Post by NickDawes »

Hey guys :)

Recently I have been considering selling my corsa, as it is fast approaching the 100,000 mile margin. I have the idea in my head that after that, all engines go downhill and it will start to give me a lot of trouble. This is my first car, and i dont kno where this idea has originated from as it runs superbly and afta a recent ECU diagnosis it gave me a stream of code 12\'s (all clear).

So lets debate. In your personal opinion- is 100,000 considered the pre-end to a cars engine?

i think it all depends on how the engine has been treated tbh

Just hit the 100 K myself.. Well the car is .. it had a newer engine at 80K after it blew up (Abuse by a previous owner I might add!)

mines 136000+ and the only thing wrong is the throttle idle sensor,
revs a bit but i just give it a good frash  and it goes back to normal running speed, but i still got confidence in the old girl :)
