Hi again,
Got another dilemma for ya all. lol.
Im gonna lower my car, at long last, just using springs.....cos im a tight ass
Anyways im gona either get the -40mm or 60mm lowering springs, id prefer the - 60mm ones, but im not sure if my car will be too low, and not move lol, or scrub like a bitch
I have, at the moment, some steelies on at the moment, that came of an astra, there 15\" and also have very thick/big tires too. So im not sure how low i can go on these without them scrubbing.
Making the problem even worse, ive just been offered some 14\" tsw alloys for cheap, infact really cheap, with brand new tires, so im guessing im going to be buying them, and so i dont wanna put these on once ive lowered it, and find my cars scraping along the floor lol.
As you may have guessed im clueless about cars, so im just after some advice on this one. If you need some measurements of my wheels and the new ones i might be getting, ill have a look tomorrow for ya.
Cheers
Adam

yeah need to know the profile of the tyre really
i\'ll expalin it....... 195/45/15 for eg is:
195- width of the tyre.
45- profile, or how large the tyre is most standard cars have a 65 profile, the lower the profile, the lower you can have your car, 30 for eg look like rubber bands
15- inchs as in 15 inch wheels
should think 14\'s you are looking at will probs be 175-50-14 something like that

for saftey reasons if u gonna lower any more than 35-40mm you have to get shocks, cause standard shocks won\'t stand it for long

Well for the price a set of springs and shocks would cost me (Say about £200 on average) i can get a set of the FK coilovers for £250......but what would the point be in me spending that amount of money on a car thats worth only £300.....lol, plus i cant really afford £200/£250 otherwise i would have gone for that option straight away.

in that case you can only lower max 40mm even then it might not last long depends how old your shocks are, i got a k reg spent bout 1.5k on her, it is woorth spending the money it depends if you are going to keep it or not.
