Advice on engine change please!!!
Riiight, i\'ve thought long and hard and im going to keep the corsa, and at the end of august im going to get a gsi engine put in, eventually with tb\'s and nos....Also check the poll out...what i need to know is :
What brakes should i get, do i need to get a rear disk conversion and how much is it going to cost me to do all the brakes??
What is a sensible BHP figure to be aiming for, considering i drive the car about 50 miles a day??
Will any streghthening be required??
Thanks in advance for any help!

You won\'t be using the nitrous for all of your 50 miles a day. You\'ll probably not use it 99% of the time anyway.
Rather than worry about what bhp, etc, what is your budget?
Re. paint, just the one colour. Don\'t do half a paint job.

no one else has said anything in relation to the strengthening of the GSI engine, tbh im not sure if it\'d need it, i spose it\'d depend on how much bhp you were trying to squeeze out?
you gonna put it in yourself sweet?

Nah im gonna dig deep in my pockets and get all the serious stuff done by the pro\'s.
Joff: Im not planning on using a constant feed of nitrous.
I want to know what a sensible bhp figure would be considering im not just driving it up and down the strip, but for every day use.... i was thinking about 150bhp???? but i dont know much bout engines, thats why im asking for advice.

from what ive heard about about throttle bodies they need constant \'setting up\' if your doing 60miles or so a day, so this could effect you, (ive gathered this from reading other posts, i could be wrong) for the sort of gains your after and the money your gonna payout the XE would probs be a better choice. J1400 always seems the man in the know

yeah smart man! ive spunked too much money at my car, you have to be really dedicated or do it as a \'calibra turbo\' engine transplant for it not to blow a hole in your cheque book (well a calibra turbo engine aint cheap, but probs is the most cost effective way of doing it)
