Clunking:
Could be the tie bar moving in it\'s mount, or something with the brakes.

Never heard of driveshafts clonking.
When I fitted uprated tie bar mounts, I \"introduced\" a clonking sound when the push had play in it.
Lie underneath the front of the car and look at the metal bars that connect to your chassis just behind the bumper. The antiroll bar (if you have one) is attached to the top of these bars.
The brackets that connect each tie bar to the bodywork have a bush in that could need replacing. With the car in the air, just pull/push the tie bar to see if it moves at all and if you can replicate the clonking.
Oh, use a decent trolley jack and axle stands eh.

I\'m now back on standard front tie bar mounts - no pissing about with Powerflex on there any more
Fit your new coilovers! It\'s easy but I wouldn\'t trust your wheel alignment equipment.
I\'ve still not managed to undo my coilovers... but when I do I\'ll give Koni a call and try and blag one of their inserts

THEN ORDER THE PADS! I\'ve already done the groundwork for you - even arranged a discount, although you might have lost the opportunity for that now
If you don\'t do it, I\'ll email you at work.

look under the front of the car....just under the bumper there is a metal beam, right at the bottom at the front, it has 2 backkets bolted to it! those are the bushes that will make the noise!
