Hey guys,
Just got a new backbox which my dad got me. It doesnt have a make or model number, so ive no idea what it is. He said the guy in the shop said it was a DTM something or other, its basically a dual exit with flamed tips, it looks well nice! When trying to fit it, we got all the reducer and stuff, but we were baffled as to how it will be hung up? It is a universal exhaust, so the prong sorta things aint on it to go into the rubber holders.
Any suggestions on to how to hold it up, and what will pass MOT?
Thanks,
dan

New Back Box
On my backbox i needed to make my own hangers (\"prong things\") so that the backbox could connect to the rubbers...... i think thats what you have got to do.
Also if its a universal backbox you will need get someone to make a bit of pipe so that it connects onto your middle section i believe.....
Im not sure if im right or not though.... i just bought a new rage backbox today and got the hangers made up already from my previous backbox, just need this bit of pipe making though, as my previous backbox had the pipe welded on. So itll be interesting to see what people say.

Yeh ive got the piece of metal that connects the backbox to the pipe (reducer). My dad was thinking of various methods to hold it up, but couldnt think of a decent one. How did you make your own prongs, and how did you attach them to the backbox?

Not what you want to hear but why did he get a universal exhaust when there\'s so many direct fit back boxes available for the Corsa?
No more Corsa :(

Mmmm.... well i used a metal rod that i bent to make \"tent peg\" shaped hangars and then cut them to size. Once this was done i welded them to the backbox and then this allowed me to hang the backbox in place.
As for you having the reducer, i know you will have that, but or you to attach a backbox to your middle section, you need the bit of pipe that bends round and over before connecting to the backbox. As a universal backbox has no pipe that does this connected to it, as then it wouldnt be universal would it, as it would only fit a corsa.... i think im kinda right on this bit lol, but im no mechanic.
For my backbox to be fitted i have been quoted £60 .... which im a bit annoyed about as i can do everything that needs to be done apart from getting this bit of pipe that will join the backbox to the middle section....
Does anyone know where i can get this from?

err...
the guys in the shop said the reducer goes into the backbox, and then into the middle section, and my dad bought some f-off clamps and some assembly paste stuff to fit them together. They said one end of the reducer goes onto the backbox pipe, which is clamped, then the other side goes onto the pipe of the middle section? Am I understanding what you mean?
Anyways, gonna try and fit the bugger today
