Lo peeps,
OK funny noises time
My poor car is getting hammered up and down motorways for about 8 hours a week
recently over the last week Ive noticed at high speed (Approx 80 mph)
a rather faint but gets louder as the car gets warm noise
It\'s hard to explain, its quite high pitched screech, it doesn\'t get any higher pitch at higher speeds but does get louder, if I drop down below say 50 mph it will seem to disappear
Any ideas???
Its got me stumped.
the worst bit is it doesn\'t really do it while wondering round town etc, so it\'s not like I can drop it in a garage and say \"sort it please\"
I doubt its wheel bearings, they make a low grumble noise on a corsa yes?
Advice please, funny noises!

Try doing different things to try and isolate the sound.
At the speed when you can hear the sound:
* Open your air vents
* Press the clutch pedal
* Open your windows slightly

Good point Joff, I forgot to mention
on motorway with clutch in (And thus engine as idle) its still making the same noise
guess that rules out engine, gearbox and clutch?
with window open I cant say I have noticed the noise, the high pitched screech\'s seems to be transmitting itself thru the chassis to inside the car
opening air vents, makes no difference

my car did this and i was wondering what it was
somehow the back window kept opening itself just slightly so it would make a high pitched air noise.
suppose u havent got back windows like mine...... check your front ones.

Hmm thanks for the advice people, I\'m pretty certain its mechanical, its more of a metal on metal noise, then a wind noise, good advice thou I\'ll check, I\'m pretty certain it was still there last time when I had the windows open.
there CV joints in a Corsa?
does it contain a front axle (Like a diff kinda thing?)
It\'s got to be something like that, driving me nuts as I am the only person who has heard it!

Funny noises come free with a Pre 97 Corsa i think!
Brake sticking... that doesn\'t sound good!
occasionally if I brake very quickly at low speed I hear a \"clonk\" noise
guess one of my calipers is touching before the other or something eek!
