Most Effective MODS

Hi there
I am new to all this \"MODDING\" game, but i have a corsa b 1.2 16V SXI in Star Silver.
All i have done so far is sprayed the plastic interior the same color as the car, which is well smart, put some neons under the seats and under car neons.
OH and i have the obvious 6x9\'s, 12\" fusion sub, 10\" JVC sub, fusion amp, JVC amp and JVC head unit.
However i was wandering if anyone could recommend me on any other mods, both interior and exterior and also modifications to improve performance.

hmm, im a fan of de-badging and removing the rubstrips on the sides of the car, simple to do and makes quite a difference

as for engine performance, most people tend to go for an air induction kit as a first engine mod, cheap and easy to fit. some people will say it makes hardly any difference, and its all in your head, maybe so, but it sounds nicer at least

Induction kit, exhaust, lowering springs, alloys.

The most effective of all performance mods would be a Nitrous Oxide kit, but it\'s not a permanently on powergain.

why have you got 6x9s a 12\" sub and a 10\" sub?

cause you shouldn\'t really mix size subs up and also 6x9 pay same frequences as sub just not as well

Lower it, deffenitly most effective for extrieor(spelling?) mods.

I have an induction kit and yea your rite it does sound mint.
Was thinking about lowering it 20-30mm, but I\'m having a problem already with my 16\" alloys rubbing on the plastic wheels arches

??? - any suggestions??

I have the 12\" sub on low pas with the bass booster really low and is aimed to pick up the very low bass(doesn\'t often come on at low volume)
The 10\" is in the parcel shelf also with the bass booster low but it is set to mid frequency - sounds pretty sweet, but does distort when i turn it up excessively loud.
The 6x9\'s are pretty much just for show.

Anyone got a strut brace fixed up? If so which is best Front upper, front lower, rear lower ... or All three??

Think i might get an exhaust, but again i haven\'t a clue what to get (full system, back box, manifold etc) and where to get it from?
Any suggestions lads and lasses

imo best things to start with are alloys and stereo headunit/sub/amp/comps like you have. then id probably say exhaust and lower it.

I\'ve got all three and I\'m buggered if I can tell the difference

Broster had his rear brace removed once his cage was in and he said he could feel it was making it too stiff at the rear.

The front lower is probably the only one that will actually make a difference on the Corsa... which is handy as I\'ve got some for sale

Alloys on a standard height car look stupid. Lower first, then change the wheels.

How much would you lower it? 20mm -35mm 40mm 60mm???
Also do you have any strut braces to fit a 1998 S reg

Sorry, I\'ve only got them for early (pre-97) Corsas.

I\'d only lower the car on 35/40 mm springs. Go for the best make, not the lowest drop - Eibach all the way. Don\'t even consider cheaper springs like Gmax, Spax, etc as you get what you pay for!

And bigger wheels will make the car slower, a performance exhaust system could reduce back pressure and uprated suspension will be so stiff the car will skip on uneven road surfaces, tyre wear will be increased and your car will shake itself to bits.

Performance filters work.

Alrite mate, glad u getting into modding. I recon the most effective modds are definately wheels, lowering, a nice exhaust and of course de-badging. those things always make ur car stand out in a crowd and don\'t cost too much or put any real cost on your insurance. If ur intrested mate i\'m selling a good set of wheels, an exhaust and ive even got a kit that I need to sell. You might not want to get into kits quite yet but its definately a good un! Ive got some pictures of my first car if ur intrested. That mite give u a good idea of where to start as I started with the essentials. If ur intrested I can send you some pics. Keep up the hard moddin work mate its def worth it!
