Difference between 195/45 & 195/50

Post by fudleone »

Hey y\'all,

in the process of getting some alloys.
i know that 45 and 50 stand for the tyre profile and yadda yadda...but in terms of fitting them onto my Corsa B, do i really need 195/45 like the salesman is flogging them to me for???

the 195/45 are more expensive than the 195/50, but do they keep the same rolling road distance (as my current tyres, 13\'s)???

i am asking this because i don\'t want speedo inaccuracy.

i am looking at TSW\'s for 300 quid from Motorworld. 15\".

Cheers,

hey mate
try this website:
http://www.rochfordtyres.co.uk/TyreCalc.asp
put in your old tyre size and both new ones and see which gives the closest to 70 mph at the top of the screen, or maybe even better go to the bottom with your old tyre size and put all the details in there it wil tel u which is closest percentage.
hopw this helps!

The 195 is the width of the alloy
The 45/50 is the profile of the tyre, smaller the Number the smaller the profile.
And obviuolsy the 15 stands for the size of the alloy.
