in general you only loose 2-5 bhp on a cat so is it worth it
also it will fail the mot if manufactured after 1990

when i ran a saxo vts for sprints i put de cat pipe in which was the same length as cat and fitted cat back in for mot
otherwise failed every year on burnt out cat due to over fueling with the L.A.D, msport engine in

its not just emissions, they will check its there!

you really, really do not want a straight through exhaust system.

it will make your car slower, and louder. you need back pressure for a n/a to work properly, loose this, you loose all the power.

de-catting it aint a bad thing.
