OIL
went down to local vauxhall dealer
yes they sell quality oil in the parts department,
but why do they use castrol in the service center and workshop ?
how strange is that!
i worked in garages for 10yrs as a mechanic 5yrs in sales and never come across that before
anyway wife dragged me round ASDA where I found Castrol magnatex fully synthetic for £18 so will try that with a vauxhall filter
thanx for all the comments

Maybe the Vauxhall stuff is Castrol in a different bottle?
If the Vauxhall oil was a quid more expensive per litre, the workshop would go with the cheaper but still reputable option.
If Joe Public wants to insist on buying \"Vauxhall approved\" oil then let them

I\'d just stick one 10w-40 semi in, been using valvoline maxlife, and a Mann filter for years on most cars, although switched to route master nwo cause it\'s cheaper, and made to the same standards. (5L £11 and £8.50 5L, filter is £1.60)
Nova get valvoline 5w-50 VR1 racing oil, but £30 5L
