B.H.P_ what should i have?
my car was original a 1.2 8valve Vegas. then it died..........
so.
my mate built me a new one.
its now a 1.4Sri block with a Astra 1.6Gsi head, so you would think it would be fast...wrong
i still have the original 1.2 gearing at moment but it just don\'t feel like it should. sluggish allot. any1 know what a could do? with the amount of things i have done to it you would expect it to be better.

if it\'s a 1.4 16v SRi, isn\'t that 90bhp alone anyway joff? unless sparkles engine is 8v i would of thought it would be more than 80? But i don\'t know poo about engines anyway! ????

I was thinking Astra 1.6 GSi (ahem) more likely to be a Nova GSi, C16NE.
No more Corsa :(

if it has a GSI 1.6 head it will be slower because the compression is lower y u using a 1.6 head?!?!?

ps now u lowered the compression get a 1.6 gsi exhaust manifold and bolt a r5 GT turbo to it get power flow to make you the downpipe, get a frontera intercooler, all hoses and boost pipes made up (cheaper than u think!), get an oil feed welded to your sump, put a power boost valve on your fuel return, get ur ecu re-mappped and rolling roaded... oh and a 2.0 fuel pump... and then you will have about 160bhp - 180bhp (may wanna get turbo cams)

spoke to my m8\'s dad(who built me the engine) and he said it IS a 1.6 Astra head. the compression wont be lower. i tend to trust the guy because he has been building these things for over 35 years as well as racing them in stock cars.
i am hopefully getting my new manifold and twin down pipe( think its Fae a nova GTE) tomorrow morning.
if everything goes to plan it should be something like this......custom built block, Astra manifold with twin down pipe made to fit, de-cat pipe through to tenzo 6\"back box.
should change the compression slightly but hopefully for the better.
