I got a corsa Gsi a few weeks ago. It seems to idle a lot of the time around 1500rpm. sometimes lower, sometimes higher.
Also the power feels a bit jerky, especially at lower revs. flat spots up the rev range.
Have fitted new plugs, leads. changed oil. new cam belt kit. Gonna try an air flow meter on it I think next.
Anyone else experienced similar problems?

I had that problem aswell mate. I found that if I fiddled with the idling screw for a bit, I managed to get it ideling just right. As for the flat spot, upgrade ur ECU. This should avoid giving you flat spots and also give you more low range power.
Best of luck pal

cheers for replies. gonna try and take the plastic inlet off and clean the idle control valve or i have a brand new one here i could fit. anyone got a manual as it looks an absolute bugger to get off lol.
also anyone got an airflow meter, sometimes my engine management light flickers on so maybe there is a fault with it.
cheer

Move the header tank and you can see the top of the valve solenoid. You might not even have to remove the inlet manifold!
The problem is that the two T25 (might be T20) Torx screws holding the valve in are at completely the wrong angle for you to see them and get access to, and just to make things a little harder, one of the screws is set closer to the valve body than the other side.
If you\'re lucky like me, the tool you were using will now be too bulky to be of any use. Get a set of allen key style Torx wrenches.

your a star mate.
couldnt even imagine to know where it was lol. got a new one here i got pretty cheap so worth changing that. gonna fit another air flow meter too that i have sourced cheap.
i get the engine management light coming on normally on a long run on the motorway and the car kangaroos at a certain revs, really violently. if i turn rhw engine off and restart its fine though. sometimes after i do that tho the car wont seem to rev when i set off, like its bogging down.
day to day its fine, just on long runs it does it. is fine if i floor it too.

Just floor it everywhere then
Mine does it occasionally, I think I\'ll fit throttle bodies to see if that cures a dodgy sensor

there shouldnt be anything to set up on standard ecu though should there. Ive got an airflow meter coming so will swap it over then disconnect battery for a while and reconnect and then should clear error codes and reset everything hopefully.

tried another airflow meter on.
car seems about the same to be honest. wondering now if its the lambda grrr.
anyone got a spare i could try?
I am sure there is an air leak somewhere. sounds like there is.
