Speedo with Rev counter in 1.2i 8v?

Post by Corsa_Buoy »

I want to know if I can put a speedo with a rev counter into an 1994 L 1.2i 8v Corsa.
My original speedo is Cable driven as it starts from 10MPH and so is the replacement with the rev counter.

Will the Rev counter work as I don\'t know if I need any extra wiring or not or do I just plug the speedo with the rev counter in it and it should work fine?

Basically, will the rev counter work?

Yeah, I think your right mate, there is a pea green wire going from the coil through into the plastic piping (where loads of other wires are) through the bulkhead at the drivers side of the car into the dash, this is the wire for the rev counter.

Apparently the multi-plug that plugs into the back of the speedo has a Pea Green wire in it (top row, 5th pin from the left of the plug), this tells me it\'s probably wired to take it, the only problem then is the speedo cable which I have to get unplugged and they are a bu**er to do.
I have tried taking the old speedo out but with no success, this might take longer than I thought to change it over.

It\'s just a cat you have to depress, if you leave some slack in the speeed cable then it\'s easier, little chinesey hands are handy, but if you have spade hands liek me you find a small graze is the end result, I find getting it back in the issue
