you have to push the vents right down, then prise them out with a screwdriver from the top, be careful not to mark the plastic, i put masking tape around the screwdriver.
push in the hazard light and lever it out

pull out the heated rear window knob so its on, and push an allen key into the small hole at the bottom of it to release the clip, then pull it off

the bottom slider button just pulls/prises off

and so does the surround around the slider bit

behind it there are two screws undo those, and the two screws at the top underneath where the vents were

hope that helps mate, some of it is from haynes and some from memory...the vents are really quite difficult but once you\'ve got them out you\'ll go \'ahhh i see\' they are held in at the sides by rubber do dars..... most rediculous thing vaux couldve come up with in my opinion

i recommend using LED bulbs to replace them. couldnt tell you which ones as i havent done it myself, but they look so much better and you can have the colour you want. you can buy them here:

For anyone else reading this, Vauxhall changed the centre console panel on the 97 facelift - making getting to the bulbs even worse.

I have done it but tbh it was such a nightmare I\'ve blanked it from my memory.

Even if you replace them with standard bulbs, do ALL of them, even if they\'ve not blown. You never want to have to remove that panel again!

Nope, not for aircon - mine\'s not got it.

If my memory serves me correctly, the early centre console bulbs can be accessed from the rear - a section comes away so you can replace the bulbs and then slot it all back in.

On the later style, you need to remove all the panel and also remove the heater controls.

The centre console is a sod of a thing, I\'ve had mine out 4 times to date as I bought a red console and fitted it but my boyfriend broke the rear heater knob because he didn\'t know about the clip. I then had it out again to fix the rear heater, then again to change the console to one I\'d sprayed myself as the colour didn\'t match and then again as I fitted a cigarette lighter.

I hope that I never have to touch it again, but I put red LED\'s in so hopefully I\'m sorted. Looks good once it\'s done but a serious ball-ache in my opinion!
