Either the engine is knackered or you cant drive. I always get 400-450 miles to a tank in my 1.2 8v 5speed.
That includes town driving, motorways (90mph) and dual carriage ways.

With my newer corsa (L-reg 1.4 8v Flair) I have just managed to scrape 298 (so say 300) miles out of a full tank.
More town driving than dual carriageway/motorway use, but still giving it a bit of hammer here and there.
I think corsa\'s wernt designed to be fuel efficient

Don\'t coast with the clutch in.
Don\'t brake, use the gears to slow you.
Only use 1/3 throttle.
Anticipate traffic in front (No point hammering up to a set of lights that are on red)
Change at 3500rpm (If you have a rev counter)
Using the gears is the best method, don\'t red-line it everywhere. Use the effectiveness of the gearbox to accelerate and you\'ll still keep up with traffic without using 1/2 > 3/4 throttle.

when you say only use 1/3 throttle do you mean, only put your foot on the accelarator a 1/3 down, or only rev to a third of the rev range.... if that makes sense.

That would actually use more fuel wouldnt it.
If u can hear ur backbox, uve got ya foot down too hard (depending how loud ur backbox is) I just hardly put my foot down, and let the revs go up nice n slow. Dont labour, cause u\'ll have to put ur foot down harder 2 get the car moving. I change at 3,000rpm. Dont rush up to 3k, cause it will use too much fuel.

Just filled the tank up 43 odd litres..... See how many miles i get
I just got 160 miles to £20 i think, im not sure if it was £20 or £30....
I have an oil leak and so need a new rockercover gasket. Although i think its more major than that as my oil went from maximum to minimum in approx a week!!! And also my waters going down quite quickly too! And its quite dirty too, even though we cleaned all the pipes out less than 2000 miles ago....
