On Going Problems...
got MOT done yesterday and it passed etc... only thing that was done was my ECU got reset. Everything else was fine apart from one or two minor things. Anyhow even though my ECU has been reset my car keeps stalling and just conking out when im coming to a stop or changing gear, the rev counter is wayyyyyyy to low and dnt go any higher, it just sits on the first line at the bottom and the car shakes away lol. Also when im driving along say in 3rd and put my foot down, it just dnt wanna go when i do it, it will do it say 10 seconds later, as if there is something stopping it from opening up. Its getting really annoying and i need it sorted, i think i need to get it stuck on a diagnostics machine and go from their, could be a sensor or something, BUT if i stick it into Vauxhall on their machines then god knows what their gonna charge me, anyone had similar problems and how they went about sorting it? anyone got a machine i can come test on lol? K&N57i filters.... would this affect anything? if so would it be better to change to say piprercross or just go back to standard

Could just b the fact that ur cars fu**ed. Failing that, when was the last time all the parts that martint2k4 mentioned got changed? Maybe ur car needs a good service. A competent garage should b able to solve the problem just as good as Vauxhall themselves only at Vauxhall you will get charged the earth. Have u done the paperclip test yet? Just because the mot station reset ur ecu, all this does is delete any stored codes. If there were any to delete and a fault has not been rectified the code will come back to the ecu.

yeah doesnt sound like the ECU to me, id say theres a problem with:
spark plugs
spark plug leads
distribution cap may have water in it (its damp at the mo, try spraying some WD40 in there) make sure the carbon brush that touches the rotor arm is ok
fuel.. could be fuel filter, ive had similar problems with fuel from tesco, its crap in my experience!!
could be idle control valve sticking, but id check this stuff ^^ before looking into it really. take air filter off and spray up the butterfly valve with carb cleaner (im gonna do a tutorial on this when i get my car back)
if you need any of that explained further just say matey

thanks for the replys, gonna do that paperclip test and see what happens.... i need to get it a good service too... whats the price of a service these days? and ive read about inductions etc being a problem for some people regarding the so called \"flat spot\" or delayed response etc..... i may have this yes, but surely an induction wouldnt cause the car to stall like 10 times within the space of 2 mins lol. Specially in the morning when its cold, but it shudnt even do that
