insurance questions (what to declare and not to declare0)
hi ppl, im currently insured with zurich under my mums name, anyone else with them[by matter of interest lol]. are they good when declaring mods because my cars gonna get a makeover soon, so just wondering what there like at declaring stuff. also what mods should you declare from this list
bodykit
induction kit
backbox [ e.g peco/sebring etc]
16\'\' alloys
lexus lights
gsi/saxo spoiler
bucket seats
steering wheel
gearknob
eyebrows
clear side repeaters
40mm suspension kit
tinted windows
alloy pedal things
red dials
performance brake pads [e.g red dot, ebc]
debadge
sub/amp
6x9s
cd headunit
ive got the last 2 atm, but not told the insurance company. im just getting a rough idea what to tell and not to tell if you get what i mean.

Stuff like ICE & interior mods there not really fussed about you declaring, but anything which alters the cars appearance/performance you MUST declare
debadge/standard gsi spoiler is negligable... for all the know the GSi spoiler could of been a factory-fitted item...
but the rest you will need to declare.

the things that probably wont need declaring are
gearknob
eyebrows
clear side repeaters
tinted windows
alloy pedal things
red dials
debadge
sub/amp
6x9s
cd headunit
everything else i\'d tell them and i\'d probably tell them about the ice if it costs more than £500-600 coz they might not pay up if it gets nicked, your current policy should say how much ice it covers

U don\'t need to declare any of ur lil interior bits ( gearknob, pedals ) u dont need to declare the backbox as it isnt the whole system and doesnt affect performance ( that came from a CIS representative ) and if ur suspension is only springs u dont need to declare that either

i was with them a year ago. i was stupid enuf not to declare any mods. thing is when you have an accident, you start to panic coz you dont want the insurance examiner to come and see your car. in other words, DECLARE EVERYTHING.

I\'ve declared the exhaust & induction kit...
not bothered with the lil b-sting aerial I have on it as there is no point in doing that is its only 20p for a new one from the scrappy (I got a mondeo short-style and adapted it)
nothing else really to declare yet... Plugs & Leads there is no need as there BOSCH leads & super-4 plugs... for all I know the garage might well of fitted those during a service

I would, if the insurance company can get out of paying then they will. If you dont declare mods you are technically driving without insurance

well ive decalred the gsi wheels and did not really have a problem. i haven\'t declared ice though but all there is so far is a set of 6x9s and cd headunit. and i dont intend to declare these and any other ice i get.
As ive declared the standard vauxhall wheels could i get some new 15\'\' ones and not tell them.
so you dont need to declare springs and backbox either then. but do need to declare lights and induction kit.
also whats will happen if your insurance find out may i ask, will this mean void insurance for a while.
