How do i tell??

Post by azonicds2 »

This might sound like a stupid question but i really don\'t know.
How do i tell if my 1.2 Corsa is a 16V or 8V??
Its a N Reg (96) 1.2 Corsa Merit, have had it 110 down a slope and roughly 95 on flat......

Thanks
Danny

have a look at that the front part has 4 cylinders poking out, and four on more beind thats 8 altogether... (i\'m not entirely sure. but thats how i found out mines was a 8v)

i\'ll try and explain and illustrate better if my comp at home works but for the mean while i\'ll have to use college comps :(

Also another quick question, the cold air induction kits. Do they make much difference? And how which one would you reccomend price wise that are any good?

Thanks

On a 1.2 they will make very little difference if anything power wise, just make the engine noise a bit louder.

Induction kits don\'t make alot of difference but it does increase the acceleration by a very small amount(well it did for me lol) and make the car sounnd meaner
All 1.2\'s are just slow be happy you got the car and save up for a performance one if you want to go faster peeps :)

the 8v is horrifically slow. Ive got a Raid HP maxflow cold air induction kit on mine, It does make a little difference, and theres certainly a noticeable difference compared to the last cheaper universal cone i had on it. I knew yours was an 8v simply due to its age. The 1.2 8v was used until 98 when they replaced it with the 16v version
