ts been a long time since I posted anything on this subject (over a year!) about my stolen/recovered rebuild project but I can finally say this to the twoccers...
I have beaten them.
Got the petrol tank fitted at the weekend along with most of the exhaust (front and middle sections) with the help of . and another friend of mine Craig (Moorsey from corsa-c and . forum). Couldn\'t get her started over the weekend and realised last night that I had connected the fuel lines the wrong way around!
I went back underneath her and fitted them the correct way around and after 15 seconds of \'turning over\' she kicked into life with a couple of splutters. She is running like a dream (and thats without any kind of servicing) even though she\'s been stood still and not started for 1 year and 2 months!
The cost of getting her sorted has come to less than £100 notes so far (and Paul had most of that for his interior.. although I did manage to sell my Sri interior and recover half of what I paid Paul!)
Next jobs are to replace the fuel line from the filter to the front of the car (got a slight leak in a crack at the join near the filter) but . picked one up for me from a scrappy today. Cherry Bomb needs fitting, I still need to fit the replacement steering column I have (I can only do that when my mate finally drops off the rest of the locks and the keys to fit the new ignition barrel and locks!) and a new windscreen. She also needs a good cleaning and mopping down, a very good major service, MOT and Tax.
Most of the story of the rebuild can be found here.
