first thing I\'m going to say is that i didn\'t fit the engine (if id had the space i would\'ve) it was fitted by MJS motorsport
I\'d be interested to hear if anyone else had problems?
when the engine went in it was fine for a few months, then the gearstick started to move when i pulled away. took it back and they couldn\'t really find anything. adjusted the gear linkages, and it was good for a week or so. i took it back and they found that the engine had worn in on its mounts and was moving. an engine brace was welded to the bulkhead to stop it moving, (had to pay for that myself) all was well again for a bit
but weeks of driving with the engine moving had taken its toll on the gearbox, had to have a new 1st and 3rd gear (i paid for labour not the parts)
and car was good again
then i drove over a security post (u know those posts that lock upright) at work, (underestimated how low the car was) and there was a rattling sound. i looked and found that the front anti roll bar had a big \'v\' in it and had pushed under the sump. sump was OK tho. so i used washers to move it off the sump and stop the rattling. took it to MJS to fit a new one, and they found that I\'d sheared an engine mount and that the brace I\'d had welded in a few weeks before was all that stopped the engine falling out
had been driving around with it like that for a week or so. anyway engine had to be lifted, and much expense later had my car back.
that\'s the Engine story to date, i have other story\'s of grief regarding the brakes, and the bodywork but this posts getting long and boring and i need beer
anyone had problems after fitting a bigger engine?

I dont understand what you are asking me there??[br]I have never had an engine replaced in one of my own cars but a few do come in at work from time to time!
I understand that people get complications but only with new builds not old but to have all them complications with engine mountings it suggests to me that it hasen\'t been done properly in the first place.

Re: anyone had problems after fitting a bigger engine?
well i swaped my X12XE for a C16XE mand the bottom end went 4 days later.
big end bolts has sheared amd the con rod had smashed a hole in the block.
so i took mine to a local engine builders, who make rally car engine and also do usual stuff, took them 5 months to take the head off, so after losing my temper the engine went from there in pieces, took it to a bigger firm with good rep, and its cost me more but they have done a proper job, just need to fit back in the car now
