I have got it started!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got the engine started today but no exaust on it so it\'s load and the charger is not on but all the belt system work just needs tuning but i am very happy now!! ;D There is vid below but the image is a bit crap as i did it on my phone but have alook!

well since then i have put oil in i have put on the cooling system on! Simon bear inmind the carbs arnt set up and at the moment this engine is running at a very very low compression ratio so it wont run right till the charger is on to bring the engine to a reasonable compression ratio and the exhaust is not on so there will be no back pressure all these things will make it run like poo but i am sure alot of problems will follow with this engine as it has been made for performance not for city and how many mpg i can get but i will keep you all updated as i spent most of last night sorting the oil system and water out i will be spending most of the day today sorting it all out as think it is only running on 3 pots i will post more info in abit!!

Today hasen\'t gone aswell as i thought it would the ignition timing is all f**ked and keeps back firing down the carbs and no matter what way i adjust it just keeps back firing...... Burnt loads of hairs off my arm lol. Two of the jets on the carbs are blocked
Good points
It starts, oil is clean and gets up to the cam, Cooling system works fine and most of all there are no leaks
But when it is started you should see the flames coming out of the exhaust port really funny
Next thing i will be doing is taking the carbs off and wiring the single point injection back up so i can sort the timing out as i think i have got a fuel problem aswell which wont help but i have had enough for today and will probley have alook again monday night.

Yea the timing is bang on am really fed up with it now! And to top it all off the starter motor has just packed in can my day get any worse??????? I used hammerite metal paint about 4 or 5 coat but dont brush on or you will leave lines with the brush! Get a small brush and dab all over it will level out and wont leave any marks mine looks spot on!![br]I hope i get it sorted too.....

Yea i hope so well i used it on my brothers ford focus front calipers and they got hot could fry eggs on them![br]I didn\'t use it on the exhaut as that does get really hot i got some special paint for that!!

I just upgraded them for him and i went on like a rally course up the moor and gave them brakes some stick and when i had done after about half an hour them brakes where so hot the heat had gone on the alloy very hot but the paint was ok thats why i have used it!

sounds good i work on mercedes and sometime the wheels are to hot to touch never mind the caliper. burnt my hand on some discs once i wasnt thinking i looked a right muppet in fron of the customer.

lol av done that befor or it\'s even worse when you are trying to get to a bolt near the exhaust and it\'s hot and you catch your arm on i got one on friday on my upper arm hurts like f**K lol
