hey,
considerin building a false floor in my boot where i will place an amp etc.
what i was wondering is...what sorta thickness mdf should i use to ensure its strong but still not too heavy?

8 x 4 sheets ar £12-14 and use the instore cutting service (saves messing about) the first 2 cuts are free (40-50p a cut there after but you can bluff it sometimes and get cut for free)
the last box i made cost £20 (3-4 cubic foot) inc cuts. i got it all cut to size at b&q brought it home screwed (allways pilot drill the screw holes first) and glued it together job done
false floors. I have moved over to using birch ply (12 and 18mm) it not cheap tho but its lighter and doesn\'t blow like mdf can

If mdf gets damp/wet it tends to blow apart or go fluffy. you can seal it with so watered down pva wood glue
