i did them myself mate.
was £10 to get them dipped(to remove the old powder coat)
then £15 tho get them shot blasted.
then cost me £10 to get them powder coated again!
plus £5 for a tube of quicksteel putty to fill the scrapes!

normal alloys dont need dippin unless you allready refurbed them once like me lol!

oh all prices are per wheel!

i dont know what powder coating ur thinking off but in my experiance its impossible to chip, as its more of a material than a solid.
stands upto a good beating to unlike paints. this stuff doesnt peel either even if u give it a big scuff, bloody nightmare to get off, thats why i had to have them chemicaly dipped.

The quick steel putty. Is it any good? Is it easy to work? Where do you get it from? Please as I have some old wheels about that I'd like to sort out.

just comes in a little tube, i got it from wilcos, takes 30 seconds to mix in ur hand and easy to apply. and it easy to sand down when its set take 20 mins.
i used a normal metal file to do it. u need to use it if u are considering powder coating. when they heat ur wheels up the other stuff falls off lol.
hope this helps
